While most people in the world experienced the day, June 30th, 2010...

...I did not. Instead, I was flying into the future, into the first day of the new month. I type this post from a small, cozy looking, yet frigid hostel called Freeman's Lodge, located fifteen minutes by foot from Auckland's city center. For those of you who don't know, Auckland is the largest northenmost city in New Zealand, and that is about all I know. Knowing that an entire day has passed, and I have not experienced one bit of it is a pretty weird realization. You can miss out on an a whole day, an entire week even, but completely skipping over a period of time that most people have lived and breathed through and I haven't, just blows my mind. Anways, Alexandra and I arrived in Auckland at 5:30 am and experienced our first few breaths of New Zealand and a beatiful sunrise within two hours of arriving. Surely, this place is gorgeous and surround with water.

I will be in Auckland for the next 4 days, where I will be meeting the other kids on my program, then I fly down to Wellington and I get settled in with my four Kiwi flatmates at:

4 Gladstone Tce, Kelburn, Wellington, NZ

For those of you who are interested. ;-) Snail mail is cherished.

Until next time.
