...I did not. Instead, I was flying into the future, into the first day of the new month. I type this post from a small, cozy looking, yet frigid hostel called Freeman's Lodge, located fifteen minutes by foot from Auckland's city center. For those of you who don't know, Auckland is the largest northenmost city in New Zealand, and that is about all I know. Knowing that an entire day has passed, and I have not experienced one bit of it is a pretty weird realization. You can miss out on an a whole day, an entire week even, but completely skipping over a period of time that most people have lived and breathed through and I haven't, just blows my mind. Anways, Alexandra and I arrived in Auckland at 5:30 am and experienced our first few breaths of New Zealand and a beatiful sunrise within two hours of arriving. Surely, this place is gorgeous and surround with water.
I will be in Auckland for the next 4 days, where I will be meeting the other kids on my program, then I fly down to Wellington and I get settled in with my four Kiwi flatmates at:
4 Gladstone Tce, Kelburn, Wellington, NZ
For those of you who are interested. ;-) Snail mail is cherished.
Until next time.

We have finally arrived
Hello to all of my dear family and friends!
Welcome.
When I say that we have arrived, I truly do mean that. This is a huge moment for me...
I HAVE A BLOG NOW!
and I am inviting you on this adventure with me.
It all begins where I sit at this very moment- my girlfriend, Alexandra's apartment in New York City. On the date, June 29th, 2010, we will be moving out to Wellington, New Zealand. As far as I know, I will be there for the year, continuing my Religious Studies major from Hamilton College, pursuing my newfound passion for acting and of course, exploring new lands and cultures.
I hope that you will all come and go as you please, just as I will be doing, and keeping me up to date with what is going on in your lives. The biggest challenge I am anticipating on this sojourn is maintaining the wonderful connections that I am so blessed to have, across great salty depths. I am committed to doing so, and I need your help also. Skype has become a great companion and I imagine it will be even more so in the upcoming months.
I can't tell you how excited I am to be heading out there. There are many adventures to be had, sites to see and people to meet.
So let's go!
I love you all and will be thinking of you.
